SRS hits news stands in Europe!

Otto Miedel from Germany’s “Super Trucks” magazine flew in to the US in the Fall of 2007 to meet with a few select truck owners on the East Coast.  His first stop was to see Jerry and take a first hand peak at Triple One.    Instead of a quick hit and run interview, Otto opted to spend the day with Jerry in Triple One trucking around CT & MA snapping various shots along the way.  “They don’t have trucks like this in Europe” Otto remarked in perfect English, “they will love to see this combination in our next ‘Sonderheft 2008′ (2008 Special Edition) magazine.”  Otto promised us a copy and he delivered that promise last week when it came in the mail.  Although we have no clue how to read German, we think Otto had some pretty nice stuff to say about us, and we appreciate it.  The title of the Triple One article is “Black is Beautiful” and it has a lot of great shots of the truck and trailer with all of the details.  All of us at SRS would like to thank Otto for stopping by and spending some time with us, we hope to see him again soon.  Here are the pictures of the magazine:

Triple 5

This is SRS’s completed 2008 389 model. There has been some discussion and concern that the 389 wouldn’t be able to stand up to the 379’s. There were some people that thought that we were not going to be able to take the truck from what it was and transform it into what it is now. “The outcome of triple 5 impressed me. It looks just as good, if not better than the 379 in my opinion. Everyone likes it, it’s proven to be a nice truck, and we’ve gotten a lot of compliments.” Jerry said. SRS is proud to introduce the newest fleet member, the new and improved Triple 5.

A Surprise Visitor

Tuesday morning Richie, a MySpace friend of SRS National, stopped by to visit SRS Headquarters.  After months of quick email and picture updates, Richie and Jerry finally had a chance to show off their prized possessions in person. As I walked outside to run my errands, I stood beside Jerry and watched Richie pull into the yard. ” I think his truck is longer than my trailer.” Jerry said, with a smile. Jerry moved the trophy winning Triple One down to the Peterbilt show room yesterday afternoon and therefore there was no face off. But as we all know boys will be boys and they will play with their toys and as a result the two played in the SRS yard. They tried a new look, Richie’s Truck and Jerry’s Trailer. A match made in heaven. The visit was short and sweet, but Richie didn’t leave empty handed. Sporting his new SRS sweatshirt Richie wave’s goodbye to make sure he dumps his load on time, a true trucker. It was great to meet you Richie.  You’re welcome back to the SRS work shop anytime.
